Sample Itinerary: 2 Nights Ichingo River Lodge

The Ichobezi River Lodges pride ourselves on our ability to tailor make each client experience. Access to your own private guide and tender boat ensures that you are able to participate in those activities that interest you, and in your own time.

However we do know that some clients would like a better understanding of what staying at either or our properties entails and for their benefit we have put together some sample itineraries for those clients staying at either Ichingo Chobe River Lodge; the Ichobezi Safariboats; or a combination of the two.

This is a sample itinerary for 2 nights at Ichingo Chobe River Lodge

Day One

Arrive at Kasane immigration office on the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana at 13h30. The staff from Ichingo Chobe River Lodge will meet you there and assist you in exiting out of Botswana and then take you by tender boat across the Chobe River to Impalila Island (about ten minutes) where you will enter into Namibia. Both of these border controls merely entails filling out a form and getting a stamp in your passport.
Once you have entered into Namiba it is a short boat ride to Ichingo Chobe River Lodge.

On arrival you will be greeted with a welcome drink and give you time to relax on the deck and unwind from your journey. You will then be shown to your tent where you will have time to settle in before a light lunch is served in the dining area. After lunch your personal guide will pack an ice box for you with your favourite drinks and then take you by tender boat into the Chobe National Park. Here you can slowly cruise along the banks of this renowned National Park, observing the magnificent wildlife and birdlife of the area. You will be out for about 3 hours enjoying the afternoon and evening before heading back to the lodge. Pre-dinner drinks are served in the bar area and dinner is at 20h00. All of our guests share a dinner table along with Ralph and the cuisine is outstanding.

Day Two

The day is entirely yours and you are free to spend it as you like. Generally guests meet for breakfast at 08h30, after which you can participate in an activity of your choice. This could be utilising your personal guide and tender boat to meander through the waterways of the area looking at the fauna and flora of the area; taking your chances with a rod and reel trying to catch a famed Tiger fish; or you can take a walk on Impalila Island to get an idea of life on the island, meet some of the local people and climb a huge 2000 year old Baobab tree. These same activities are available to you in the afternoon so you really can pick and choose what you would like to do, and because you have your own personal guide, you can do them in your own time.

Mostly breakfast is served at 08h30 and lunch at 13h00 but we are very flexible so if you would like to re-arrange these times to suit you better you would just need to let us know at dinner the night before (i.e. if you want to get up really early and then come back for brunch at 10h30 or 11h00 this would be perfectly fine with us).

Dinner is served at 20h00.

Day Three

Transfer by tender boat from Ichingo Chobe River Lodge at 09h00 to the customs office on Impalila Island to exit out of Namibia. From there you will again cross the Chobe River to enter into Botswana at the Kasane immigration. Your transfer company will meet you at 10h00 for your transfer onto your next destination.
