Tiger Quests and Tiger Trails

The tiger fish (Hydrocynus Vittatus) is only found in Africa and we are so fortunate to have access to extensive productive tiger fishing waters, with over 100 kilometeres of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers to explore.  Added to this, there is unrestricted access to the winding Kasai Channel and the streams, islands and backwaters of the Chobe and Mambova rapids.

Ichingo Chobe River Lodge recognises the value of the area as an international fly-fishing destination and we provide guests (beginners and experienced anglers alike) with the ideal opportunity to come to grips with the 'striped dog'.  Excellent qualilty guides and outstanding boats (with a max of two fly fisherman per boat) will give anglers every opportunity for that fly fishing trip of a lifetime.  In addition to tiger fish, our waters also offer fishermen the chance to catch nembwe (Serranchromis robustus), Threespot Tilapia (Oreochromis andersonii) and the sometimes massive Sharptooth catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The very elusive and challenging Upper Zambezi yellowfish (Labeobarbus codringtonii) can also be found on the gravel beds in the area.

In order to tempt all those wanting to concentrate on fly fishing especially, Ichingo Chobe River Lodges provides two distinctive packages to the lodge:
